Life’s small pleasures

13 Feb

Inspired by a thread I saw in the marvellous www.mumsnet.com

A lush bath without my 7 year old dangling her feet in the water to “keep mummy company”.

A cup of tea or coffee in a cafe.

Spending time with my children.

Planting seeds & then nurturing my seedlings.

Reading a new book by one of my favourite authors.

Playing Fashion Story on my ‘phone.

Finding a good book for 30p in the charity shop.

Foot rubs.

Colouring-in with my sparkly gel pens.

Big grins when the small children I work with see me each day.

A tidy house (though this never happens)

Anything purple.

Anything sparkly.

Anything chocolate.

I have no idea. I think I ought to take your TARDIS away as punishment 😛

So important to remember these things. I had a hard day with the kids today and your post has just reminded me think about those small pleasures. Puts it all into perspective. Thanks 🙂

My daughters are now 9 & 7 & the day-to-day parenting is easier, so I can indulge myself in small pleasures again.

The emotional parenting gets harder I find though. Kids get crueler as they get older & I have to deal with hurt feelings & everyone in the whole class, apart from me, has a mobile phone.
